Conditions: Wet and gnarely today. Base is holding well in areas with north exposure. Base is shrinking yet solid at 4-12 inches. Forested and protected north slopes are fine for snowshoeing. Exposed areas either wind swept or that were 'sun' exposed are losing snow quickly. Swallow Falls State Pk. packed out trails are very icy and slippery. GREAT BACKCOUNTRY SNOWSHOEING THIS WEEKEND.

Forecast:Rain will turn to snow and accumulate from 8-12 inches Thursday. We are under a winter storm warning. Winter will be here this weekend with sun and milder temps. EXCELLENT CONDTIONS FOR TOURS!
Long Term Forecast:Spring might spring but we have the snowpack and base for another two-3 weeks of tours. March 13th and 14th might be the last weekend of tours. Come get it while you can.
Snowpack has been amazingly resilent this year- withstanding numerous thaws and freezes and rains and enjoying regular snows. To us it looks like it will survive into March and some March weather forecasts are snowy as usual. Last year we ran our last tour April 12th.
